A massage table is one of the basics that a massage therapist does need. Massaging tables is second only to therapist's hands as the most important part of their massage practice. A massaging therapist used a massage table to position the client to receive a massage. Most are manufactured with client comfort and therapist ergonomics in mind. A typical table has an easily cleaned, heavily padded surface, and a horseshoe-shaped head support that allows the client to breathe easily while lying face down.

Massage tables come in different sizes, colors, shapes, and with different accessories. Some massaging tables may be either stationary or portable, depending on the intended use. The tables also have face-rests or not, and some have a backrest that can be elevated. Additional padding or supports may be used as accessories to the basic table.

Some massage tables are also equipped with warmers for client comfort, and it is also possible to purchase a warmer cover for a massaging tables. Many therapists also use padded covers to increase client comfort on the table, especially for older clients, who may have fragile bones.

You can purchase massages tables to many massage therapy schools and online retailers that cater to masseurs. Keep in mind, when choosing a table; make sure that you consider whether the table will be travelling with you. If you're not sure, get a portable massage table.

Your clients first experience before the actual massage is when the lay down on your table. Make sure it's not squeaking and rocking or they will not come a knocking!
